The Birds

The Bird Series

This is a collection of photos I have captured over the years of birds around the world (mostly in the United States). The focus of this series is to create awareness of birds people are likely to ignore or overlook. It is also to create awareness of the environments around you, humans are not the only things who inhabit this planet. It has been proven that if humans feel a connection to an animal from an image or video, they are more likely to care about preserving that animal. The Turquoise Browed Motmot is said to be endangered, it is featured three times in this series.

Note: I have also included a protest poster that was spray painted across El Salvador. This stencil series displayed the Turquoise Browed Motmot, which is the national bird of El Salvador. The stencil was a common phrase among the women's rights movement that was sparking in El Salvador in 2013.
